Born in Penang, Dalfandy started cello lessons at the age of 13. He studied the cello under Lai Kong Loke and was appointed as Principal cellist in PESSOC (Penang State Symphony Orchestra and Chorus). He was also invited as guest cellist by National Symphony Orchestra in 2008. In the following year, he succeeded in auditioning for Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Having graduated from high school, he is presently teaching the cello and learning chamber music from Jascha Y. Shimano. He was one of the members in the 2010 and 2011 Ensemble Koschka Japan Tour concert.
